1. PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY
This Membership Policy establishes the rules, rights, responsibilities, and structure governing membership in the Canadian Voice Movement (CVM).
CVM is a national, community-based movement, not a political party, created to empower Canadians through transparency, accountability, community participation, and direct support initiatives.
This policy exists to:
Protect members
Protect the movement
Ensure fairness, legality, and transparency
Clearly define what membership is — and what it is not
2. NATURE OF THE CANADIAN VOICE MOVEMENT
The Canadian Voice Movement is:
A community movement
A national civic organization
A Canada-first empowerment initiative
A non-profit, non-partisan structure
CVM is not:
A political party
A lottery or gambling system
A financial investment scheme
A bank or lending institution
A profit-distributing organization
3. MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Membership is open to individuals who:
Are 18 years of age or older
Reside in Canada or are Canadian citizens abroad
Agree with CVM’s principles of accountability, transparency, and community empowerment
Agree to abide by all CVM policies and codes of conduct
CVM reserves the right to deny or revoke membership for cause.
4. MEMBERSHIP TERM
Membership is valid for 12 months from the date of registration.
Membership must be renewed annually to remain active.
Lapsed memberships lose access to member privileges and programs.
5. MEMBERSHIP CONTRIBUTIONS
5.1 Annual Membership Fee
Members contribute a $100 annual membership fee.
This fee supports:
organizational operations
community programs
education and outreach
national and local events
administrative and compliance costs
This fee does not purchase benefits, rewards, or financial assistance.
5.2 Voluntary Community Contribution
Members are strongly encouraged, but not required, to make a minimum $50 voluntary contribution.
This contribution is directed to the Community Investment & Support Fund (CISF).
The CISF supports:
community grants
housing assistance
zero-interest loan programs
emergency support
investment projects that generate long-term sustainability
This contribution:
is voluntary
does not guarantee financial benefit
does not constitute an investment
does not create ownership or profit rights
6. MEMBER RIGHTS
Active members in good standing have the right to:
Participate in CVM events and assemblies
Apply for CVM community programs and support initiatives
Access education, training, and leadership opportunities
Receive transparent reporting on CVM finances and operations
Participate in internal consultations and feedback processes
Membership does not guarantee selection for any grant, loan, housing, or financial assistance program.
7. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
Members are expected to:
Act respectfully toward other members and the public
Participate in good faith in community activities
Provide accurate and truthful information
Follow all CVM policies, rules, and codes of conduct
Avoid actions that damage the reputation or integrity of CVM
8. BENEFITS AND SUPPORT PROGRAMS
CVM offers various merit-based and need-based programs, including but not limited to:
Community grants
Financial assistance
Housing support
Zero-interest loans
Education and business support
All programs:
follow clear eligibility criteria
are reviewed by independent committees
are non-random
are not lotteries or prize draws
Final decisions rest with CVM’s designated review bodies.
9. LEADERSHIP & CONFLICT OF INTEREST
To preserve integrity:
CVM leadership, directors, officers, and senior staff are NOT eligible for:
grants
loans
housing support
financial awards
All leadership members must disclose conflicts of interest.
Any breach may result in removal or disciplinary action.

10. TRANSPARENCY & ACCOUNTABILITY
CVM commits to:
Annual independent financial audits
Public financial summaries
Clear reporting on fund usage
Independent oversight committees
Separation of operational funds and support funds
Transparency is a core principle, not an option.
11. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
Membership may be suspended or terminated if a member:
Provides false or misleading information
Misuses CVM resources
Engages in fraud or misconduct
Violates CVM policies or values
Acts in a way that harms the movement
Termination decisions follow a fair internal review process.
12. POLICY AMENDMENTS
CVM reserves the right to amend this Membership Policy when necessary.
Any changes will be publicly disclosed
Members will be notified of material changes
Continued membership constitutes acceptance of updated policies
13. ACCEPTANCE OF POLICY
By registering or renewing membership, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Membership Policy and all related CVM policies.
